Get Involved at Worthy Earth

Join the Team. Learn Skills. Meet Others. Help Sow the Seeds of the Future

There are plenty of ways you can volunteer at Worthy Earth this Year. As part of the team you can experience all the aspects involved with growing healthy, ethical produce and meet like-minded people in the process.

  • Be responsible for bringing new plants into the world, by spending time in our poly-tunnel. Here you will learn how to sow module trays and nurture plants in their crucial, early stages. This will be a lighter form of work in the company of others, but also meditative and microscopic.

  • Nurture vegetables and herbs in their outside beds under the open sky, keeping the plot tidy and well attended. Get to grips with specialist market gardening tools such as the oscillating hoe and micro-greens harvester. You will learn how to prepare no-dig beds during crop rotation and how to harvest efficiently when the time comes. There is more physical labour involved here, but many hands make light work.

  • Spend time tending to the crops as they arrive off the garden and prepare them for collection or delivery. This will involve light washing, quality control, weighing and careful packaging of the produce in the company of others. Work will be social and may involve some cooking at events and the serving of refreshments for the other volunteers.
